Diversity

As co-founder of the University Diversity Alliance and the University of Tokyo LGBTQ+ Staff Association, I support the academic and social participation of sexual minorities in Japanese higher education. I have also conducted talks for a variety of audiences on issues related to sexual minorities and diversity.

• "Support for sexual minority students and the prospects for university DE&I." University Diversity Alliance Japan annual symposium. 8 December 2024. 6 presentations, 2 panel discussions, 80 participants online and in person.

Science communication

As an organiser of the Japan SciCom Forum (JSF) annual conference and the bi-monthly JSF socials I contribute to the development of the science communication community in Japan and the sharing of knowledge and skills development of community members.

• JSF-PCST/Japan Scicom Forum annual conference 2025. Earth-Life Science Institute, Tokyo, 11-13 November 2025. 3 days. 3 panels, 16 talks, 6 working groups, 2 keynotes. 120 participants in person only.
